05/01/08 - Happy new year!
Happy new year from The Cans!

Check out the gig guide for a list of upcoming gigs in the new year.

30/10/07 - Debut album
On Sunday 28th of October The Cans went into the studio to record their debut album, a 5 track EP entitled 'Rhythm & Booze'.

Tracks include the blues classic 'Help Me' by Sonny Boy Williamson, 'You Really Got Me' by The Kinks and Led Zeppelin's 'Rock and Roll'. Check the discography section for more details.
A big thankyou to Janet Wolstenholme for recording and mixing the tracks. We'll have CDs for sale at gigs as soon as we can and will also make some samples available for download. We'll keep you posted!

15/08/07 - All change!
While Mark has been off on his jolly hols The Cans were lucky enough to have two great drummers to stand in.

On Friday 3rd August at The Smithy our old mate and former full time Cans member Chris Pendlebury stepped in, then on Saturday 11th August at The Hollins in Macclesfield we had top session drummer Tim Franks behind the kit.

Both drummers did a really first class job, and The Cans would like to pass on our great thanks to them both.

07/07/07 - Bad news / good news and drum skin logo
Bad news on Saturday as The Marple Tavern, a regular gig for us, had to cancel on us as it had just found out it had lost its music licence due to a bunch of miserable peasants complaining to the council about the noise. The good news was that we then managed to get a last minute replacement gig at The Lord Eldon in Knutsford (big thanks to Matt!) which turned out to be a fantastic night!

Mark also unvieled his new drum skin featuring The Cans logo...

02/07/07 - ...nearly there!
The site's nearly complete, with the exception of a few pages with missing info here and there. We've got a photos page featuring a series of grainy, out of focus, badly framed photgraphs; a posters page featuring gig poster artwork; a downloads page with a bunch of wallpapers and icons (no music just yet, we need to record that first!); a links page featuring... well, links, and the contact page in case you want to drop us a line or join the mailing list.

Still haven't got a recent band pic for this page yet...

01/07/07 - Site updated...slightly
Hampered by a complete lack of understanding of html, the site is slowly taking shape. A few things are now up and running, most importantly the gigs page. The more complex stuff like the photos page might take a little while longer, so bear with us!

Oh, and the big white box at the top of the page will have a photo of the new band line up...just as soon as we get round to taking one.

27/06/07 - The Cans go online!
At long last The Cans drag their apathetic selves out of their collective drunken stupor and finally get around to establishing an online presence.
